Modification

Definition: Individual Program Plans will include modifications which refer to changes in curriculum or instruction that change or alter the requirements of the curriculum. The curricula requirements are revised to meet the needs of the student and provide improved access to the curriculum. There are numerous ways in which the curricula can be modified.
Examples:
Math curricula that states a child will know the adding facts to 20 by grade 2 may be modified to say 'fact to 10'. Or a child struggling with written work may have a modification to give his indication of comprehension orally. There are many ways the curricula is modified to meet the childs needs.
