Believe it or not, most behavior is for attention. All too often, we respond to the inappropriate behavior without giving attention to the root cause for the behavior. Typically, the inappropriate behavior is usually due to
  • A need for Attention
  • Revenge
  • Power
  • Display of Inadequacy
You will be much more able to address the inappropriate behaviors effectively if you take the time to understand the root cause.

With summer here, I have more time to surf the internet and share the great gems I've found. First of all, here is a 'create and customize calendar' that will give you all the American holidays. I really liked this 'Read, Write, Think' listing of summer activities as well, keep them learning all summer and help prevent backsliding. A great tool for 'word shapes' helps struggling learners remember the spelling of correct words. Remember, if you keep the learning somewhat fun, children are more apt to develop positive attitudes about learning.
