ASD - Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Definition: ASD refers to the group of disorders which include autism and pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) these will include Asperger's Syndrome, PDD, Fragile X Syndrome, Rett's Syndrome, and Childhood Disintegrative Disorder. Children with ASD will demonstrate deficits with social interaction, communication both non-verbal and verbal and will often have some type of repetitive behavior. ASD ranges in degree of severity from mild to severe.
