Islands of 6 Create Space for Multiple Approaches to Instruction

Jerry Webster

Islands of 6 has all the pros and cons of Islands of 4, but creates more floor space. This particular plan has a group rug for large group instruction, small group instruction, class meetings and other class activities. This arrangement for instruction works well with almost any elementary (grades K through 6) group but would not be acceptable to Junior High or High School students.
