Asking Better Questions to Promote Thinking

Before asking your next question, why not take some time to ask better questions. By that I mean questions that don't elicit the answer yes or no. A great starting place is Bloom's Taxonomy. Basically, Blooms is divided into the following categories:
  • Knowledge
  • Comprehension
  • Application
  • Analysis
  • Synthesis
  • Evaluation
Essentially, the lowest level of thinking occurs with a knowledge based question (often memory based) and the highest level of thinking occurs with the top level, Evaluation. For an understanding of how to ask better questions, here are some quick tips to help.
