Appropriate Accommodations = Greater Student Success
Sunday November 18, 2007
Accommodations for students with learning disabilities or special needs refer to strategies that will help the student become successful in the given area. For instance, you could accommodate by giving more time on a test or allowing speech to text software when taking the test. Chunking learning into smaller more detailed steps would also be an accommodation. To ensure the needs of students are met, it is important that the right accommodations be listed in their IEP.
You'll find this list of the more common accommodations helpful to determine what will work best for your student/child.
